Oh, y’all this one is soooooo good. Like 100% amazing and you must read it as soon as humanly possible. Erin Zak has written one of the very best books of the year. My friend, you want this one in your life. Just an outstanding read.
Gwendolyn Carter is a Hollywood actress who is a household name but hasn’t had the breakout role of her dreams yet. She had high hope for a big film role, but just lost out on it and now has no excuse not to go home for her father’s birthday. Gwen avoids going home, at all costs. She has a strained relationship with her mother that has not improved since she fled home after graduating high school.
The Carter family, took in another young lady after Gwen left their sleepy town. Lila Machowicz was one of Mrs. Carter’s star volleyball players and invited Lila to live with them when Lila’s military father was given orders to transfer to Germany. She has become like a second daughter to Mr. & Mrs. Carter. Gwen and Lila have never met and both have giant reservations about doing so.
So we have a lot of family dynamics at play in this one. What we also have is I don’t like you but damn you’re hot kinda action as well. Lila and Gwen have chemistry for days. They also have quick witty banter that keeps you on your toes. I love this angsty drama, it is just an amazing read. I could gush over this one for days, but I am just going to say don’t deny your self this one. It is well worth the price. This is a book you will definitely want to read more than once.
An easy 5 out of 5 stars
Sophie James is known worldwide. The singer is known for her amazing ballads, soulful voice and selling records at lightning speed. Everyone looking from the outside would think she lives the dream life. The truth is, she is basically all alone other than the companionship of two friends, her longtime stylist and makeup artist. Her mother sees her as a cash cow and the only person she could look to as a loving parent figure, her long-time manager Ray, has suddenly passed away. Sophie is beginning to realize that she needs to forge her own life and start making music that means something to her.
Dana Landon has just been assigned Sophie as her new client. She will be the singer’s PR specialist as well as her manager. She could not be less excited. Sophie has gone a bit off the rails since Ray’s death and the last thing Dana needs is a superstar that has public drunken escapades she has to clean up. Dana really doesn’t think too highly of the “diva” she now represents.
What I really adored about this book is how the main characters, Sophie and Dana, played off each other. The unhurried pace lets them develop from a business relationship, then to friends, and then finally to lovers. Beers sets a nice pace, not too long, not too short and just enough heat to keep you begging for more. It’s the little moments or intimacy between Dana and Sophie that really hook you. You the reader are right there for every step and misstep on their journey. Georgia Beers always delivers amazing stories. This is a book that will charm you and leave you with a smile. Not a bad way to spend your time.

Irregular Heartbeat is a fantastic debut novel by Chris Zett. Now I will be the first to say, I love hospital romances. Can’t get enough! So this one was right up my alley.
Dr. Emily Barnes is a no-nonsense hardass when it comes to the hospital’s emergency department. She is all business. She has no time for friendliness, idle chit-chat, all work all the time. Needless to say, she does not have a lot of friends at work. She expects the best from her staff and even more so from herself.
Diana Petrell is Emily’s newest resident. She’s older than the others and has a backstory, one Diana isn’t sharing and that intrigues the serious Dr. Barnes. These two become colleagues but there is just a little something simmering there. Neither is willing to take the first step, their careers mean too much. So when a chance encounter in a bar lets Diana’s secret past get out these two take a giant step towards friendship with a little something extra.
This story is well developed, the characters are solid, the dialogue is seamless and there is some simmering heat. You really cannot ask for more with a romance novel this has all the elements of a good book. And yes, it is a good one. I loved how Emily is perceived as cold and unfeeling when she is anything but. As her mask gets pulled away you have these great moments of really seeing the character Zett was sculpting.
If you are a hospital romance junkie you will definitely want to pick up this sweet, and sexy slow burn romance. I will totally be on the lookout for Zett’s next work.

Slow burns are one of my favorite tropes in romance. I love that will they or won’t they, the delicious pull that both characters keep denying for whatever reason. Totes love it! What you need though to make this work and really pull in the reader is that dazzling chemistry and allow the characters to really develop over the course of the book. Not an easy feat!
Megan Palmer is a new tenant to a Victorian conversion in London. Megan is a fitness trainer who is laid back and loveable but easily rolled over by dominating personalities. Enter her neighbor, accountant, Lena Shah. Lena is the direct opposite of her new neighbor. She’s a loner by nature, easily irritated and has OCD. Megan and Lena get off on the wrong foot and Megan does everything in her power to appease Lena, except with every forward step she takes she then will make another mistake in the eyes of her neighbor. A leaky roof forces these two to cohabitate and this changes the dynamic of their relationship.
I think what grabs me the most about this book is Lena’s character. She’s bitter, at times cold and prickly. She is not easy to love when she feels embarrassed or out of sorts she is quick to lash out. Megan takes a lot of lashes that would be hard for anyone to take. She has redeeming qualities, they just tend to be overshadowed by her other personality traits. She teeter-tottered right on the edge of unlikeable. What I did like about her is that she does have a great amount of self-awareness in regards to her behavior. She knows what she had done wrong she is a work in progress on changing her quick reactions.
More than anything I wanted more dialogue and a little less repetitiveness in regards to Lena and Megan’s daily interactions. A slow burn that just needed a bit more.

Blayne Cooper is an amazing writer. Her books are so good! Her latest book, Blind Side of the Moon, I literally bought without even reading what the plot was about. I didn’t need to, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this book would be amazing. I was absolutely right, it was!
Samantha Blackwell is a high school junior that has recurring dreams that she knows are important. She just doesn’t know why or what she’s supposed to do with what she has seen. As the dreams begin to get more frequent and more detailed she learns through her mind’s eye that her dreams are about a classmate being stalked. She knows without a doubt she has to help, but she doesn’t know who she can get anyone to believe her.
Jane Hutchens is from one of the most prominent families in town. She feels like an outsider in her perfect little family. Her siblings, the twins, are the most popular kids in school. Jane is lucky if anyone even looks her way. Super smart Jane spends most of her time in a book. So when Samantha drops a bomb on her about being stalked she balks at the outrageousness of the situation. that is until the notes and text messages become so frequent and intense that she just can’t ignore the danger lurking.
So the premise of the book is a stalker on the loose and Samantha, who can at times foretell the future befriends Jane to help catch the madman before he hurts her. Oh, but it’s so much more than that. This book has amazing characters who have depth and soul. While they are young these two are also mighty. Both, Jane and Sam are so well developed and you really get to know their emotions. These are strong young women that you cannot help but love and root for.
While Blind Side of the Moon is a mystery filled with twists it also has a romance that is every bit the mystery’s equal. The love story is so sweet, it pulls at your heart strings time and time again. While the two characters are young, they are both wise in so many ways. The ending is left open a bit, so I hope that we will see more of this dynamic duo.
A Big 5 stars!
